UFC Fight Night 141: Blaydes vs. Ngannou
The officials have confirmed that the UFC Fight Night 141 had the headliner. Therefore, we officially recognize the upcoming mega fight as the UFC Fight Night 141: Blaydes vs. Ngannou. Curtis Blaydes is the UFC Light Heavyweight champion and will fight against his contender Francis Ngannou.
The event will mark the promotion’s first visit to Beijing. The UFC previously visited Mainland China for UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Gastelum in November 2017.
A heavyweight rematch between former UFC Heavyweight Championship challenger Francis Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes is expected to serve as the event headliner. The pairing met previously in April 2016 at UFC Fight Night: Rothwell vs. dos Santos, with Ngannou winning the fight via TKO stoppage at the conclusion of the second round.
Shana Dobson was scheduled to face Wu Yanan at the event. However, Dobson pulled out of the fight in mid-October citing an injury and was replaced by Lauren Mueller.
Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos was expected to face Li Jingliang at the event. However, Santos pulled out from the bout on October 27 due to a knee injury. He was replaced by David Zawada.
Frankie Saenz was expected to face Song Yadong at the event. However on November 7, it was reported that he pulled out of the bout due to injury and was replaced by promotional newcomer Vince Morales.

About Curtis Blaydes
Curtis Lionell Blaydes (born February 18, 1991) is an American professional mixed martial artist, currently competing in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional since 2014, he formerly competed for the RFA. As of July 26, 2018, he is #3 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings.
Blaydes was born in Naperville, Illinois and raised in nearby Chicago along with his four other siblings. He began wrestling for the De La Salle Institute, winning a state title his senior year while also compiling an undefeated 44-0 record. During his four years, Blaydes compiled an overall record of 95-18 with 121 takedowns. Blaydes also played football for De La Salle as a defensive end. He later earned a full wrestling scholarship to Northern Illinois University, where, despite going 19-2 as a redshirt freshman, later transferred to Harper College. At Harper, Blaydes won the NJCAA National Championship as a redshirt sophomore. After he began fighting in amateur mixed martial arts, Blaydes left school to focus on a career in MMA.
About Francis Ngannou
Francis Ngannou (born September 5, 1986) is a Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist competing in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of July 26, 2018, he is #4 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings.
Ngannou was born and raised in the village of Batié, Cameroon. Ngannou lived in poverty and had little formal education growing up. At 12 years old, Ngannou started working in a sand quarry in Batié because of a lack of funds. As a youngster, he was approached by various gangs in his village to join them. However, Ngannou refused and instead decided to use his father’s bad reputation as a street fighter as motivation to do something positive and pursue boxing.
At the age of 22, Ngannou began training in boxing, despite reluctance from his family in the beginning. After training for a year, Ngannou stopped training due to an illness. He did various odd jobs to make ends meet, until at the age of 26, he emigrated to Paris, France to pursue professional boxing. After Ngannou reached Paris, he had no money, no friends and no place to live. After living homeless on the streets of Paris, he began training for free in August 2013 under Didier Carmont. Being a fan of Mike Tyson, Ngannou was originally interested in learning how to box until his coach introduced him to the sport of MMA.
